Only on Kodiak can you witness the Kodiak Brown Bear in its natural habitat. The Kodiak Bear rivals the polar bear as the largest member of the bear family and the largest land based predator. These bears can weigh up to 1500 pounds and stand 10ft tall. Fortunately these bears have a plentiful supply of salmon during our fishing season so their interest in humans is relatively little.
Viewing can be done in the village as the bears will roam around town. For a more pristine trip, we can arrange a fly out to witness them in mass catching salmon and fattening up for the winter. Wale watching and bird viewing is also spectacular and are usually seen when fishing the salt.
