Kodiak Lodge Flights: At Kodiak Lodge we are committed to providing the highest quality experience for our clients. As with any remote destination, a "hassle-free" travel experience is an important part of your vacation. To make sure you have no surprises during your flights to and from Kodiak Lodge please take a moment to read information that follows.

Our reservations desk is happy to assist our clients in arranging connecting flights to the lodge.

Regular scheduled flights from Kodiak into Larsen Bay area are approximately 2:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. Taxi service is available to take you into the city of Kodiak to look around or have lunch if there is time.

For groups of 4 or more, you may wish to charter a plane from Anchorage, which can fly you directly into Larsen Bay. Please call us for detailed information.

One of the most important factors in flying from Larsen Bay to Kodiak is weight. Please note that, in addition to passenger weight, you are allowed another 50 lbs only. Any additional weight is charged at 59 cents per pound by local airlines. So, pack lightly and save the weight for those big fish you will be catching! Major airlines will list weight allowances on their website. Excess weight is solely your responsibility.

If you'd like to stay overnight in Kodiak may we recommend: The Best Western Kodiak Inn (www.kodiakinn.com); 1-888-KODIAK-4; Shelikof Lodge (www.ptialaska.net/~kyle) 907-486-4141; or the Comfort Inn @ (907)-487-2700.

If you'd like to stay overnight in Anchorage may we recommend: The Millennium Alaskan Hotel www.millenniumhotels.com/anchorage (907) 243-2300; Marriott Hotel (www.marriott.com) 907-279-8000; or the Captain Cook Hotel (www.captaincook.com) 800-276-7415.

Because Larsen Bay is a dry community, to purchase liquor or beer you must do so while in Kodiak City or Anchorage. Or we can order it for you, just callus with your order prior to departure and we'll make sure it is on the plane with your luggage.

When packing, Prepare for temperatures ranging from 50-80'. Layered clothing works best. You can always remove excess clothing if you get to warm. Although the weather is good, it's best to always be prepared in Alaska and bring Thermax underwear, turtlenecks, sweaters, t-shirts and a warm jacket. Don't forget a good pair of polarized sunglasses and a bathing suit if your would like to relax in our hot tub at the end of a long day of fishing. Of course don't leave home without your camera and lots of film! Please pack your clothes into a soft-sided bag if possible, this makes it easier for the airline to load the plane. We will be pack your fish in airline approved wet lock boxes. We do have raingear, boots and waders, however many people prefer their own.
