Where is Kodiak Lodge and when is it open? The lodge is located in Larsen Bay, a small village on Kodiak Island approximately 60 miles southwest from Kodiak City. Larsen Bay is accessible only by air or water. The Lodge's season normally runs from June through September.
What accommodations does the lodge have to offer?
Our main lodge is used for dining and relaxing next to the warm fire. The new luxurious lodge sleeps 8 guests in 4 private double / queen suites with deck and spectacular water views. Our 2-bedroom/2-bath cabin sleeps four guests and has a luxurious lounge area and a covered deck with hot tub. Ideal for 2 couples or a family.
What type of fishing is available?
Throughout the season we offer saltwater & freshwater fishing for all 5 species of salmon, as well as world-class bottom fishing for Halibut, Lingcod, Yellow eye & Black Bass.
What types of boats do we use? We have two, 23' custom built cabin boats and a custom 28' cruiser with a marine head and a place to hide from the weather. We fish 2-4 per boat on the 23', and 4-6 on the 28'. We also charter a 34'glass cruiser for special occasions.
How many hours will you fish each day?
Anywhere from 7-10 hours each Day
What type of fish processing do we provide?
All of your catch is filleted and vacuum packed in 8-10 oz servings and packed in a waxed, lined airline approved box for your return home. The lodge provides 1 50lb. Box per customer; any additional fish you wish to take home is $1.50 per lb.
What if I have to cancel my trip or can't make it to the lodge?
Anytime traveling in Alaska there are possibilities of delays or cancellations due to weather. Kodiak Lodge does not refund lost days so we recommend the purchase of trip insurance. Contact us and we can help you with providers.
What if my outbound flight from the lodge is delayed?
Kodiak Lodge does not charge for extra days, however we do not offer fishing on those days
What is a normal gratuity?
Gratuities normally range between 8 and 12% of the package price, which is then divided among the entire staff.
Does Kodiak Lodge trade for goods or services?
Absolutely! Over the years we have traded for everything from construction and labor to dental work. If you have a business and are interested in trades, please don't hesitate to inquire.
How do we get from the Larsen Bay airport to the lodge?
Our representatives will meet you at the Larsen Bay landing strip and drive you approx. 1 mile to the lodge.
Is phone and e-mail available at the lodge?
Yes! We do have a phone you're welcome to use. Your cell phone will not get service at the lodge. For internet and e-mail access you can bring your own wireless laptop or use our computer.
What gear does the lodge provide?
The lodge supplies all rods, reels, tackle and bait. All tackle is provided by the Daiwa Corp. and is replaced every 2 years, we can also provide raingear and boots. Our fly tackle is geared toward the entry-level fisherman, therefore some may prefer to bring their own.
