Kodiak Lodge Fishing Seasons

Our Kodiak Alaska fishing vacation seasons begin in June where Kings are the dominant species. Fully guided saltwater trips are sure to produce some, super bright, monster Kings this time of year. These are the best eating fish and boy do they fight! River fishing requires fly-outs to the Ayakulik river and the Karluk river can be accessed either by fly-outs or ATV.

As we roll into July, the Halibut fishing nears it's peak. Resident Kings remain in the saltwater while the spawners have made their way into the rivers. Pinks are abundant and can literally be caught on every cast. Chums are also teeming into the creeks and it's a great chance to try your hand at fly fishing.

As July turns to August, the Coho (Silver Salmon) arrive. It doesn't get any better with 30 fish per day, and Silvers up to 22 pounds being the norm. Halibut, Lingcod and Yellow Eye remain red hot. For non-stop action, this is the month!
